BREAKING: 3 Moderate Quakes Strike South San Diego County

Three moderate earthquakes near the U.S. border have rattled parts of Orange and San Diego counties and the Coachella Valley.

The U.S. Geological Survey says a 4.5 magnitude quake hit at 2:12 a.m. Saturday, about 16 miles southwest of Calexico. A similar earthquake struck at 9:12 a.m., and a 3.7 quake struck at 9:52.

The USGS reports that residents in nearly every San Diego County zip code reported feeling the first quake.

No damage or injuries have been reported.

Hundreds of earthquakes in the magnitude 2.0 range hit Saturday along the Laguna Salada Fault, as well as a few above 3.0, near El Centro.
