Atlanta Sees Accumulation of Snow

What started as rain has now turned into flakes. Snow began falling across metro Atlanta, heavier amounts in north Georgia.

Some school systems in north Georgia announced they would be closed Tuesday because of the weather.

Parts of north Georgia could see several inches of snow by Tuesday afternoon, according to WSB-TV meteorologist Karen Minton.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 8 a.m. Tuesday until midnight. Snow could reach the northern suburbs of metro Atlanta, Minton said. The weather will move through Atlanta by the first part of the afternoon and by 5 p.m. everything will be gone.
