As heavy rain mixed with hail began falling, a nine vehicle pile-up snarled traffic on interstate 285 south on the westside of metro Atlanta Friday afternoon.
At least one person was injured in the crash involving six tractor-trailer trucks and three cars, according to Monica Luck, spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Transportation. Several lanes of I-285 between Bolton Road and Hollowell Parkway were closed.
About 100 gallons of hydraulic fluid spilled from one of the trucks, Luck said. A HAZMAT crew has arrived on the scene for clean-up.
