80s Music Video Flashback

When In Rome - "The Promise"

When in Rome is an English New Wave trio, originally consisting of vocalists Clive Farrington and Andrew Mann, and keyboards player Michael Floreale. They are best known for their 1988 single, "The Promise" from their self-titled album.

The song made the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1988 and is the band's biggest commercial hit. More recently, it gained publicity after being featured over the end credits of the 2004 film Napoleon Dynamite. "The Promise" was initially released as a 12" record and reached the top of the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. After the release of the group's self titled debut the song was re-released and peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
